The wait is finally over. The Underwater Sports Association (India) — USAI, India's official CMAS-affiliated Underwater Sports Federation of India, is pleased to announce the official dates and venue for two major back-to-back events on the national finswimming calendar: the 9th All India Finswimming Federation Cup 2026 and the 3rd National Finswimming Master Championship 2026 — both to be held in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, organised by the Andhra Pradesh Unit under the aegis of USAI.

Athletes across Junior, Senior, and Masters categories now have everything they need to start planning: venue, dates, event programme, entry fees, and the registration process.

Age Groups & Event Programme (As Per CMAS)

The Federation Cup will be contested across Boys, Girls, Men, and Women categories:

  • Senior A (18 & above, born 2002–2008)
  • Junior B (16–17 yrs, born 2009–2010)
  • Junior C (14–15 yrs, born 2011–2012)
  • Junior D (12–13 yrs, born 2013–2014)
  • Junior E (PROMOTIONAL EVENTS ) (10–11 yrs, born 2015–2016)
  • Junior F (PROMOTIONAL EVENTS )(8–9 yrs, born 2017–2018)
  • Junior G (PROMOTIONAL EVENTS) (7 & under, born 2019 and later)

Events span Bi-Fins (50m–400m), Surface Monofin (50m–1500m), Apnoea (50m), and multiple relay formats (4×50 SF Mixed, 4×50 SF Men/Women, 4×100 SB Mixed, 4×100 BF Mixed, 4×100 SF Men/Women), plus Immersion — Monofin (100m) for Senior A and Junior B–D categories. Distances offered vary by age group, with younger categories (Junior E, F, G) contesting shorter distances.

Please note: Swimmers registering for the SF 800m and SF 1500m events must bring their own monofins, and registration for relay events takes place on-site on 10th October 2026.

Age Groups & Event Programme (As Per CMAS)

Following straight on from the Federation Cup, the Masters Championship is open to Men and Women aged 30 and above, strictly as per CMAS Finswimming Rules (2025):

  • M30+ (30–39 yrs, born 1987–1996)
  • M40+ (40–49 yrs, born 1977–1986)
  • M50+ (50–59 yrs, born 1967–1976)
  • M60+ (60–69 yrs, born 1957–1966)
  • M70+ (70–79 yrs, born 1947–1956)
  • M80+ (80 yrs & above, born 1946 & earlier)

Events include Bi-Fins (50m–200m), Surface Monofin (50m–200m), Apnoea (50m), and the 4×50 SF Mixed relay, with distances offered varying by age category. As per CMAS rules, each Masters swimmer may enter a maximum of six individual events, and must compete strictly within their own age category. Relay registration takes place on-site on 12th October 2026.


Entry Fees (Both Championships)

  • Registration fee (per swimmer): ₹1,000
  • Standard event fee (per event): ₹400
  • 50m BF / 50m Apnoea / 50m SF /100m BF/ 100mSF: ₹500 per event

How to Register

Registration for both championships follows the same simple process through USAI's official portal:

  1. Online Registration: Register on the official USAI portal at underwatersportsindia.com (Sign Up / Sign In).
  2. Download Your Receipt: After successful registration, download your online receipt from your USAI portal account. Print it, self-attest it, and get it signed by your Unit Secretary/Coordinator.
  3. Documents at Reporting: Submit a copy of valid ID proof, two passport-size photographs, and your signed registration receipt printout at the reporting desk.

Important Guidelines for Participants

All athletes and teams are required to comply with the following:

  • Parent/Guardian NOC — mandatory for every participant in the Federation Cup (Junior/Senior categories)
  • Fitness Certification — a valid fitness certificate from a certified medical professional is mandatory for all participants in both championships
  • Food & Accommodation — will NOT be provided by the organisers; participants must make their own arrangements
  • Medical History Declaration — any medical history or condition must be disclosed to USAI/organisers in advance for athlete safety
  • Incident Responsibility — USAI and the organisers shall not be held responsible for any incident involving an athlete, supporter, or other individual during the event; all participants must take necessary precautions

Outstation teams travelling for either championship can make the most of their trip — these popular spots are all a short drive from Sir Vizzy Swimming Pool:

  • Kanaka Durga Temple (~3 km) — a famous hilltop goddess shrine on Indrakeeladri Hill with panoramic Krishna river views
  • Prakasam Barrage (~2 km) — a 1.2 km barrage across the Krishna, beautifully lit at night and best viewed at sunset
  • Gandhi Hill (~3 km) — India's first Gandhi memorial, featuring a planetarium, library, and sweeping city views
