Eleven Young Finswimmers, One Flag: USAI Athletes Head to Phuket for the Sea Wave Super Sprint 2026

It is a proud moment for Indian finswimming. Eleven young athletes selected by the Underwater Sports Association (India) — USAI, India's CMAS-affiliated Underwater Sports Federation of India, are set to travel to Phuket, Thailand, to take part in the International Finswimming Competition Sea Wave Super Sprint 2026, with the event beginning on 8 November 2026.

The Association of Thailand Underwater Sports (ATUS), on behalf of CMAS Thailand, issued the official letter of invitation to USAI on 18 October 2026, inviting the Indian delegation of athletes, a coach, and accompanying parents and guardians. For every young swimmer on this list, it is the chance to represent India abroad, race alongside international competitors, and carry home an experience that will shape their sporting future.

About the Competition

The Sea Wave Super Sprint 2026 is an international finswimming competition hosted at Phuket, Thailand, beginning on 8 November 2026. The invitation was issued by ATUS, the Thai national body for underwater sports, on behalf of CMAS Thailand, and addressed to USAI as the federation representing India.

International competition is a different experience from a national championship. New venues, new rivals, different conditions, and the responsibility of wearing the national colours all help young athletes grow quickly, both as swimmers and as people.

Congratulations, Athletes!

To each of our eleven athletes: congratulations. Your selection is the result of discipline, early mornings, and countless laps. You have earned this opportunity, and USAI is proud to send you to Phuket as India's representatives.

A few words before you travel:

  • Enjoy the experience. International events are about learning as much as racing.
  • Be good ambassadors. Show the sportsmanship and respect that India's finswimming community stands for.
  • Race your own race. Trust your training, and give your best in every lap.

Whatever the results, you are already champions for making it this far.

A Word for the Coach and Parents

Behind every young athlete is a team of people who made this possible. To Coach Vibhuti Nikhilpuri Goswami, thank you for the guidance, patience, and dedication that prepared this group for an international stage. To the parents and guardians, thank you for your trust, your sacrifices, and your constant encouragement. Your support is the foundation of these athletes' journeys, and we are delighted that you will be there in Phuket to share the moment.

Why the Federation Pathway Matters

An invitation like this one reaches athletes through the national federation. USAI is the sole CMAS-affiliated national federation for underwater sports in India, which is why international opportunities for Indian athletes come through us. If your child dreams of representing India abroad one day, the route begins with training and competing within the USAI structure.

You can explore finswimming training in India through USAI, register for the National Finswimming Championship, and read more about USAI. As always, we encourage everyone to verify events and affiliations at cmas.org before they participate.

Best Wishes from the USAI Family

On behalf of the entire Underwater Sports Association (India) family, we wish the athletes, coach, and parents a safe journey, a wonderful stay in Phuket, and a memorable competition. We will be following every race and cheering you on from home.

Go well, Team India. We are proud of you! 🇮🇳
